WE TAKE TWO THINGS SERIOUSLY
The food and the drinks. Almost nothing else. Being nice is important too. Cast-iron pizza out of a 615 degree deck oven, cocktails built by hand, and a room that's up for anything: sci-fi hallways, art on every wall, karaoke, DJ nights, and a goth-tropical escape called Endless Bummer next door to Montrose. We're good for first dates, last dates, a solo drink with a book, or a table of 15 that gets out of hand. Come for the pizza. Stay for whatever's happening.
FAQ
What's the deal with the name?
Betelgeuse is a supergiant star in the Orion constellation. Think Houston > NASA > space > stars > Betelgeuse and that pretty much tells the story. We liked a bar name rooted in astronomy and a little mystery. The rest followed.
So what kind of place is this?
A neighborhood bar first, with great pizza and snacks. Good for first dates and last dates, solo drinks with a book, weird art, karaoke, DJs, late nights, big groups, and quiet corners.
Is this a Beetlejuice-themed bar?
No. The star Betelgeuse has a long history tied to mythology and the afterlife, some of which influenced the movie. There's overlap, we like the film, and we're not mad about the confusion. But this is not a themed bar. (Please don't sue us, Tim Burton.)
Are you dog-friendly?
Yes, at Washington. Bring your dog. We will probably like your dog.
Are you kid-friendly?
Absolutely, until 9pm.
Do you have gluten-free or vegetarian options?
Yes. Gluten-free crust on our 14" pizzas, gluten-free wings, crispy chicken tender bites, salads that can be made gluten-free, and plenty of vegetarian options.
Do you take reservations?
For groups larger than 15, email manager@betelgeusehou.com.
Can I host an event here?
Absolutely. Private parties, buyouts, weird ideas. Hit the events page and we'll take it from there.
Do both locations have the same menu?
Food, yes. Cocktails, mostly, but no guarantees.
Do you have happy hour?
Every day from 4 to 6. $7 wines by the glass, $8 draft jugs, $9 select cocktails.
Is there parking?
Washington has three lots: the spaces around our building, the lot on the west side, and the lot with the big Betelgeuse Parking sign past the furniture shop. Montrose has a dedicated lot behind the building plus street parking where signs allow.
Do you do karaoke?
Karaoke every Friday and Saturday at Washington. Starts at 9. Bring your singing pants.
Do you have a loyalty program?
Text JOIN to 833-304-0735. It doesn't suck.
I have a question that you didn't answer in this very well thought-out FAQ.
OK, you can text me literally right now and I will probably answer. 971-328-1832. Take a close look at that phone number and let me know when you see it.

WANT TO WORK HERE?
We're always looking for bartenders and staff who want a room with personality and a crowd that's up for anything. If that's you, send a resume and tell us something interesting.
